In collaboration with KSF, we are offering this second edition of the Whitewater Club for kayaking, paddleboarding, or surfing. Based in LaSalle, this club will teach you the basic techniques of one of the three sports (your choice), help you improve and gain confidence so you can enjoy your next visits to La Vague à Guy or Habitat 67 on your own. The package includes four three-hour evening classes led by KSF experts.
In collaboration with KSF, we invite you to choose from one of the whitewater disciplines on offer to learn the basics or improve your skills. It's the perfect opportunity to spend your summer evenings on the water after a hard day at work and enjoy a truly special experience on the river. Fun GUARANTEED! To allow you to practice between sessions, KSF offers free equipment rental for three weeks, from the first to the last class. *Subject to availability, no reservation required. Limited stock on weekends and not available on holidays. Maximum of three hours per day.
WHITEWATER KAYAKING
For thrill seekers, whitewater kayaking is an activity not to be missed! You will learn the basics of kayaking, such as different paddle strokes, kayaking rolls, and reading the current. You'll also explore techniques such as eddy turns, exiting and re-entering the current, reading rapids, and an introduction to river descents. This program is an opportunity to discover the basics of river kayaking while exploring the more moderate sections of the famous Lachine Rapids. This sport is suitable for all levels, and all equipment is provided!
RIVER SURFING - INTRODUCTION 1 - BEGINNER (Waves at Guy)
River surfing is a great way to discover this sport! Through our lessons, you will learn the basic techniques of river surfing, which will also be useful in the ocean, and the basics of reading river currents. Our instructors will guide you with constructive feedback to help you progress. This sport is accessible to all levels.
RIVER SURFING - BEGINNER 2 - INTERMEDIATE (Habitat 67) - Prerequisite: Beginner 1
The Beginner 2 course is ideal for becoming fully comfortable with river surfing on the Habitat 67 wave, while consolidating the whitewater skills you have already acquired. Structured over four weeks of progression, it allows you to evolve at a steady pace, integrate essential techniques, and gain confidence from one session to the next. This level offers a healthy dose of adrenaline and solid progression to continue pushing your limits while working on your swimming endurance.
WHITEWATER STANDUP PADDLEBOARDING (SUP)
A comprehensive program to develop comfort, technique, and independence in whitewater SUP. Each week, you will progress through key skills: SUP basics, first maneuvers in currents, intermediate techniques, and more dynamic navigation. Through structured progression, you will learn to read the river, control your board, and safely navigate the Lachine rapids, gradually pushing your limits.
Thursday evenings: June 11, June 18, June 25, and July 2.
4:30 p.m. - Participants arrive
5:00 p.m. - Class begins
8:00 p.m. - Class ends and drinks are served
Arrive at least15 to 30 minutes before your class starts so you have time to get ready.
4 x 3-hour kayaking, surfing, or SUP lessons with certified instructors (ratio 1:4 for surfing, and 1:6 for kayaking and SUP)
Shuttle service during activities, if necessary
