To find answers to your general questions about Les Chèvres de Montagne's outdoor women's community.
Les Chèvres de Montagne is the largest outdoor community of women in Canada. We are a non-profit organization (NPO) that organizes unique events that bring like-minded women together to live magical moments and create friendships. Our goal is to facilitate access to different outdoor activities, share best practices, gain confidence and, most importantly, have fun. Far from the pressure of performance, we hope to provide opportunities for more women to start or progress in one or more outdoor sports.
Les Chèvres de Montagne was created to get more women into the field and to provide access to group activities for women. We want to facilitate access to sports and activities that may be intimidating or require technical knowledge or a social network. It is proven that women learn differently than men and this factor is even more pronounced in the outdoors. We, therefore, create a learning context that is adapted, based on pleasure and far from the pressure to perform. We focus on safe supervision in an ideal learning environment.
We offer a wide variety of outdoor activities; rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, gravel biking, canoeing, kayaking, backcountry skiing, fat biking, cross-country skiing, ice climbing and winter camping (and much more!). In addition, we offer a variety of outdoor sports related trainings so that women can be better equipped and progress. Events are offered in many different formats, from weekly clubs to full weekends and even trips. Our strength is that we offer many different types of outdoor activities for women that cater to different skill levels. Please feel free to contact us at info@leschevresdemontagne.com
Les Chèvres de Montagne activities are supervised by professionals and outdoor guides trained in the chosen discipline and equipped with wilderness first aid training. Activities are generally offered in a turnkey format to limit all the hassle, stress and planning elements associated with an outdoor activity. The proportion of costs related to activities varies slightly from one event to another.
