Being outdoors means knowing how to deal with the unexpected! We all too often forget that most of our outdoor activities take place in isolated areas. Accidents happen. Do you carry a first-aid kit? Do you know what to put in it? Would you be able to react in an emergency?

Here we offer you the 40-hour First Aid in Remote Areas course. It's a great way to learn the basics and find out if you need more as part of your regular outdoor activities. What's more, we're offering you the chance to experience this training in good company, among Chèvres with coffee and the classic festive beverage to simmer down the day's learning.

Required level

Training objectives

  • Recognize and respond to the most common medical emergencies in urban and remote areas.
  • Implement appropriate safety measures when working in urban environments and when working or traveling in remote areas.
  • Administer immediate resuscitation care, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED),
  • Apply basic first-aid principles and splinting techniques.
  • Prevent, recognize and manage environmental emergencies, including heat exhaustion, heat stroke, hypothermia and frostbite.

Day 4 - 8:30 am to 5:30 pm

DURATION
40 teaching hours

  • Classroom theory and hands-on activities (realistic nature simulations, more than half the time spent on hands-on activities)
  • Knowledge and skills assessed on final day (multiple-choice exam)

Certificate valid for 3 years.
