A first for the Chèvres: a completely self-supported sea kayaking expedition. We’re heading to the Sea of Cortez in Baja California to spend six days exploring Loreto National Marine Park, its islands, and part of the coastline. In these unspoiled and protected areas, we’ll be able to see species found nowhere else in the world, explore pristine beaches, and discover the wonders of marine life.
A trip to soak up the warmth and sunshine, led by our dear Renée-Claude Bastien and accompanied by an experienced local guide. An expedition off the beaten path, with a touch of Chèvres flair.

Registration details can be found in the "To know" tab.
The trip will be confirmed no later than two months before departure.

THE SPIRIT OF TRAVEL
Experience a true sea kayaking expedition in Baja California. This kayaking expedition in Mexico will take you on a journey through part of the Sea of Cortez in Baja California!
The Sea of Cortez (also known as the Gulf of California) is located between the desert peninsula of Baja California and Mexico’s northwest coast. Sunshine and warm weather are guaranteed. Sure, the sea can get a little choppy at times, but don’t worry: that’s when we’ll leave our kayaks behind to explore the desert and its cacti.
You’ll spend the first half of the trip exploring the remote islands near Loreto and then the miles of unspoiled nature along the coast. These areas are preserved and protected, so we’ll have the opportunity to see species found nowhere else in the world and beaches that are still untouched. You’ll have the chance to dive and discover the wonders of underwater life.
This trip includes a half-day excursion to observe gray whale calves at their birthplace on the Pacific side: local guides will take us out in pangas (small boats) to see them.
ACCOMMODATIONS_ - _Comfort Level 2/5 - Rustic with no amenities
We’ll be staying at an eco-lodge by the sea on the first and last nights.
During the kayaking expedition, we’ll be camping at night.
FOOD
LUGGAGE A fully self-supported kayaking expedition means “limited space for luggage.” Shared gear (tents, cooking gear, tarp, toilet, food, water) must fit inside the kayak hatches. For personal gear (clothing, sleeping bag, toiletries, snorkeling gear), it is essential to have small waterproof bags (5–10 liters) and to follow the gear list that will be provided to you.

While the trip doesn’t require any prior sea kayaking experience, you should be sure that paddling 4 to 5 hours a day for a week will be enjoyable.
Of course, knowing how to swim is essential.
