Explore the backcountry of the Canadian Rockies on a long-distance hike: that's what this unique trip is all about. We'll cover two of the region's most spectacular long-distance trails. Helicopter travel to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, wilderness camping in the national parks, hotel rest between hikes and a six-day self-guided trek up the Rockwall in Kootenay National Park.

Day 1 - Arrival in Calgary
Meet the group and your guide Renée-Claude.
Day 2 - Helicopter flight to Assiniboine
Assiniboine Provincial Park is 26 km from the nearest road. A spectacular helicopter flight takes us into the backcountry.
We set up our base camp for the next three nights near Lake Magog, at the foot of Mount Assiniboine.
Depending on the time of day, we'll have the opportunity to take our first exploratory hike.
Days 3 and 4 - Hiking around Lake Magog and Mont Assiniboine
Two days devoted to surveying the many star trails from our base camp.
Day 5 - Out of the backcountry, towards Canmore
Dismantling of camp and equipment drop-off at Assiniboine Lodge (luggage leaves by helicopter).
We leave on foot via the Wonder Pass trail.
7 to 10h / 26.1 km / +900m
Check into a hotel in Canmore for 2 nights.
Day 6 - Rest day
Rest day in the village of Canmore and preparation for the independent Rockwall trek.
Days 7 to 11 - The Rockwall - Kootenay National Park
A driver takes us to the Rockwall trailhead for six days of self-guided hiking. An unforgettable, self-paced adventure in a larger-than-life setting.
Day 12 - Rockwall exit - heading for Calgary
The driver is waiting for us at the trail exit to take us back to Canmore. From there, we'll head back to Calgary for our final evening.
Day 13 - Calgary - end of tour
Rest day and departure according to your flight schedule.
